Illumination is a firebending utility ability that allows a firebender to easily navigate through dark areas.
Players: How to useEdit
To use the Illumination ability, a player must bind it to any slot in their inventory. To do this, use the command:
/bending bind Illumination
Once the ability has been bound, you can click to toggle it on or off. While it is on, a torch will appear and follow you around. This will only appear on blocks that are ignitable. If you get too far from the torch, it will disappear and reappear again once you are on another ignitable block.
To view the in-game help guide, use the command:
/bending help Illumination
By default, the Illumination ability is given to all firebenders. If you run a more advanced permissions setup, you may not want this to be the case. You can disable it by negating the permission node:
To negate a permission node, consult the documentation for the permissions plugin you are using. The method in which you negate a permission node varies depending on the permissions plugin.
Additionally, if you wish to use a permission node that effects all firebending abilities, use:
In the config.yml file you can change the range of Illumination. This is how far the player may go from the torch before it goes out (if on an unignitable block). You can use this in your config.yml to change this:
Properties: Fire: Illumination: Range: 5
